Amidst persisting narratives and disinformation, this booklet serves as a dedicated
guide to dismantling Israeli propaganda. As we feel committed to providing facts and
advocating for justice, this document aims to equip readers with the knowledge and
tools necessary to challenge misconceptions.
This booklet outlines effective communication strategies, encouraging advocates to
remain calm, factual, and persistent in pursuing justice. By dissecting key
terminologies and addressing prominent claims with clear counterarguments, we aim
to provide a comprehensive resource on historical events, propaganda tactics, and
misconceptions for those dedicated to dismantling false narratives and fostering
accurate understanding.
Armed with this knowledge, we invite you to engage in conversations, challenge
indoctrinated beliefs, and actively contribute to a more truthful representation of the
harrowing reality faced daily by Palestinians. International Law states that the
occupying power is obliged to comply with its human rights obligations in occupied
territories and respect people placed under its effective control due to the
occupation, including, but not limited to, the human rights granted under the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- Rules for Effective Communication
Express Empathy: Adopt a compassionate tone, acknowledging the value of
all human lives. Recall the harmonious coexistence among Palestinians of
different diverse religions before the era of Western colonization of Palestine.
Peace and Justice Advocacy: Emphasize that we are advocating for peace,
justice, and a commitment to securing fundamental human rights for the
Palestinian people, including, but not limited to:
● Right to Self-Determination: Palestinians all over Palestine face
limitations on their ability to exercise self-determination and pursue
their economic, social, and cultural development.
● Protection Against Land Theft and Illegal Settlements: The Israeli
Occupation Forces (IOF) unabashedly executes the theft of the
Palestinians’ land and the audacious establishment of illegal
settlements, egregiously infringing upon their property rights and
drastically compromising their living conditions. According to
International Law, The Israeli Settlement violates Article 49 of The
Fourth Geneva Convention and breaches international declarations.
● Right of Free Movement: Israel restricts the freedom of movement for
Palestinians in the West Bank through the implementation of a system that includes permanent, temporary, and random staffed checkpoints,
as well as the West Bank Barrier. Additionally, the Israeli occupation
prohibits Palestinians from using certain roads. Throughout the West
Bank, there are numerous military checkpoints and blockades, totaling
645 in 2023, according to the UN.
● Access to Resources: The Israeli occupation, through land
confiscation and settlements, has severely curtailed Palestinian access
to water and other resources on their own land. Furthermore, over
620,000 Palestinians residing in marginalized communities in the West
Bank are either disconnected from piped water services or receive
inadequate water supply, exacerbating their challenges, UNICEF.
● Right of Return: Palestinian refugees, whom the IOF forcibly
dispossessed since 1948, and their descendants are deprived of their
right to return to their homes. According to Article 13 (2) of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyone has the right to leave
any country, including his own, and to return to his country.
● Living Conditions: The Israeli occupation ruthlessly devastates the
living conditions of Palestinians, wielding a siege, inflicting economic
hardships, perpetuating soaring unemployment rates, and imposing
severe restrictions on building and infrastructure development.
● Access to Education and Healthcare: The Israeli occupation actively
undermines Palestinians’ access to education and healthcare by
enforcing harsh restrictions on the movement of people and goods.
This deliberate interference exacerbates the challenges they encounter
in securing essential services.
State Facts: Strengthen our message by providing factual information backed
by statistics and numbers from reliable sources.
Keep Calm and Consistent: It is crucial to remain calm. Let’s refrain from
raising our voices or adopting an aggressive tone.
Be Patient: While you might have answered a claim a thousand times before,
remember that every person is a new person who still believes their claim.
Approach each response with the same energy and commitment as if
addressing it for the first time. Consistency in tone and demeanor contributes
to more effective communication.
A Better Future for All: Emphasize our (The Palestinians’) determination to
eradicate Apartheid, Ethnic Cleansing, and Illegal Settlements. To also
champion Palestinian human rights. This vision encapsulates our unified
aspiration for a future characterized by justice, equality, and dignity for
everyone.BIBLIOGRAPHY
